No Claim Bonus

For every claim free year, your Sum Insured will increase by 5% up to a maximum of 50%.

Just 5% Co-pay

During claims, just 5% of the approved settlement amount is to be paid by you. Rest will be paid by Acko.

Broad Coverage

Pre & Post Hospitalisation Expenses

If hospitalised for at least 24 hrs - related medical expenses between 30 days before and 60 days after hospitalisation are covered.

Room Rent Limit

For plans with more than 3 Lakhs of Sum Insured, the room rent covered is up to Rs. 5000 per day.

Ambulance Charges

You can claim up to Rs. 2,000 against ambulance charges once for each hospitalisation.

ICU / ICCU Charges

For plans with more than 3 Lakhs of Sum Insured, ICU and ICCU charges up to Rs. 10,000 per day are covered.

Dental Treatments & Plastic Surgery

Dental treatments or plastic surgery deemed necessary owing to an injury or a disease are covered.

AYUSH Treatment

Hospitalisation expenses at authorised AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy) centres is covered.

Day Care Treatments

Q. What is ‘Arogya Sanjeevani’? Is it a government sponsored insurance policy?

Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) is a government entity that regulates insurance in India. ‘Arogya Sanjeevani’ is an affordable and simple health insurance policy designed and recommended by IRDAI. All general insurance companies, including Acko have been authorised to sell the policy.

Even though it is recommended by IRDAI, it is not ‘sponsored’ by the government. People who want Arogya Sanjeevani health insurance policy, need to purchase it on their own.

Q. Do I need to go for a medical test to buy a policy?

In most cases, where you don’t have any existing medical conditions and your lifestyle habits are healthy, you don’t have to go for a medical test to buy the policy. If medical tests are required, we’ll inform you about it before you make any payments to us.

Q. Is Coronavirus (Covid-19) covered under this policy?

Yes. If you get tested positive for Coronavirus (Covid-19) and get hospitalised for treatment. The hospitalisation costs will be covered under this policy after a 30 day waiting period.

Q. Can I make cashless claims with Arogya Sanjeevani, Acko?

Yes, you can make cashless claims if you get hospitalised in any of the 6000+ hospitals in our network. Do note that there is a 5% co-pay in this policy, so you need to bear 5% of the total expenses irrespective of which hospital you choose. How much you need to pay and how much Acko will bear is subject to standard terms and conditions mentioned in your policy document.

Q. How do I make a claim on this policy?

In order to make a cashless claim, you need to visit any one of our network hospitals in your city. You can view Acko’s network hospital list here. 
Once you are at the hospital, you need to provide the insurance desk with your E-card and UHID number before the hospitalisation.
Hospitalisation expenses will be borne by Acko after deductions or exclusions are applied as per the 
policy wordings

Q. What is ‘waiting period’?

‘Waiting period’ is the time you need to wait before you can avail a specific benefit from the date your policy came into effect. Ex: If you bought a policy on 1st of January, 2021, you’ll only be able to claim for hospitalisation costs against Coronavirus after 31st of January, 2021 because Covid-19 has a waiting period of 30 days.

Q. What is meant by ‘pre-existing illnesses’?

If you have already been diagnosed with a disease or illness that you may or may not be undergoing a treatment for, gets referred to as a ‘pre-existing illness’  Ex. If you have diabetes at the time you are purchasing this policy, it is a pre-existing illness.
